Dr. Russell Drew Stokes, MD |
 Dr. Stokes is on the attending staff of the Westerly Hospital and cares for newborns and older pediatric patients at Westerly Hospital. He also consults with specialists from Women and Infants Hospital, Hasbro Children's Hospital and other Connecticut and Rhode Island Hospitals when necessary. Dr. Stokes has also mentored medical students from New England College of Medicine, local high school students and enjoys teaching.
Dr. Stokes is a New England native growing up in Massachusetts before attending Princeton University. He graduated form the University of Virginia Medical school in 1974 and became Chief Resident while studying Pediatrics at the University of Connecticut. After graduating he successfully managed a full-time pediatric practice at a model health center in New London, CT.
After three years, Dr. Stokes entered a second residency at Lincoln City Hospital in South Bronx, New York in Emergency Medicine. He started a family, moved back to CT. and practiced Emergency Medicine for the next 20 years. After an exemplary career he established the current pediatric practice in Westerly, RI.
